Human-Computer Interaction Methods
In Carnegie Mellon's HCI Methods course, students work in groups to perform different usability evaluation methods (including contextual inquiry, contextual design, heuristic evaluation, keystroke-level modeling, cognitive walkthrough, and think-aloud) on a number of internet housing search tools and generate a redesign proposal, aggregating the functions of all the tools within a single system that better supports users' work habits while also promoting sustainable living choices.
Read my team's redesign proposal from the fall 2007 semester, or (if you have a lot of free time) look over our 211 pages of usability aspect reports.
Echo Healthcare
Echo is a healthcare-industry acquisition company founded in 2005. Shortly after their inception, I was commissioned to design their logo and print materials such as business cards and stationery. Later that year, I designed their standards-compliant website and have maintained it since then. Echo recently merged with XLNT Veterinary Care and became Pet DRx.
DigitalBridge Communications
DigitalBridge is a WiMAX internet service provider. Working as an intern in the summer of 2006, I designed a standards-compliant website for them using XHTML, CSS, and Javascript. I also developed a customized Google Map which could be used by customers to easily determine whether they were within service range.
Note that the site is no longer in use by DigitalBridge, which is why it is now hosted within my own site.
Harmful If Swallowed
In the fall 2007 semester, Carnegie Mellon's ultimate frisbee b-team voted to adopt the new name "Harmful If Swallowed." I proposed this logo and jersey design, which was adopted and put into use in the spring.
